It is perfectly normal that people have different tastes, simply because they are different people. Minor differences like gender or age spring to mind.

Honey and Clover… couldn’t stand it past episode 4… and I did force myself since episode 1… just didn’t do it for me, despite the great opinions of others about it.
There’s nothing wrong with this thread- it’s just that it’s hard to think of a series that is popular, but that I didn’t like. I don’t think I’ve “disliked” any anime series . . . it’s just that some series are more suited towards my taste than others. I didn’t get into Bleach for a very long time, and only now starting to get into it. Also, there are times when I don’t like Naruto . . .
Anyway, if I think of any shows that fit this thread’s criteria, I’ll be sure to post.
The story is so circonvoluted it’s almost impossible to understand (still have to understand what a stand alone complex exactly is…but I don’t care anymore). About 50% of every episode is talking with slow jazzy music in the background. The whole thing is cold, intellectual, there’s no emotion. I hate the main character. She’s the smartest, the strongest, she’s always right, never makes any mistakes and she knows it. She’s too perfect to be likable. The 3 OSTs are wonderful though but it takes time to enjoy them - which means it’s excellent music but not a good soundtrack. 'course all of this is only my own opinion…
If movies count too, I’d say the grave of the fireflies.
Other than these, I’ve never been really disappointed by a popular anime.
I would say Bleach… I did read the manga a bit, but the anime never got me interested. And so far, the new Naruto. Ah, and Gundam. I watched only half a season of one of its parts.
I dont know…the only thing that I dislike the most was Death Note, because I really hate the main character for several reasons. Its just that it never got me interested (or interest) on watching the whole thing.
